Diatomic (Diatomaceous Earth - DE)

The benefits are many for those using Diatomaceous Earth in organic products for agriculture and also for human consumption health supplements. Reserves in excess of 600,000 tonnes have been hidden deep in the Hinterlands of Australia’s East Coast lies an ancient fresh water lake that has been suspended in time for around thirty million years.



DIATOMITE

Diatomaceous Earth is naturally fossilised remains of diatoms (a prehistoric phytoplankton). Diatoms are one of the few prehistoric plants that are still present in our waters today. DE is built up over millions of years - when thin diatoms die - they sink to the bottom of rivers, oceans and waterways, leaving bend their silica rich skeletons.

DE CONTENT
  • Has a high amorphous silica content which is readily available to plants.
  • Contains less than 2% crystalline silica.
  • Has been tested by world renowned expert and has been proven to be as good as, if not better than any other known deposit in the world.

RAW DIATOMITE

Raw diatomaceous earth mined from sedimentary layers deposited millions of years ago in a fresh water lake. It is light in weight, chalk-like in appearance, very porous and comprises siliceous fossils of plant algae. It consists primarily of amorphous silica as distinct from crystalline silica or quartz.
It is used as a soil conditioner to provide plant available silica and improve cation exchange capacity.

ORGANIC LIVESTOCK

Developing sustainable methods of production stock feed with high standards for organic livestock. Inclusion of a certain grade of diatomaceous earth in the diet of grazing ruminants may offer some benefits in controlling internal parasites.

PREMIUM FOOD GRADE

Natural organic 100% food grade DE (Amorphous Silica). Silica is actually a transport agent that is responsible for the absorption of calcium, magnesium, boron and iron by the bones. Silica levels in the body decrease with age unless it is supplemented.

DE is an effective preventative against bed bugs. Dust around architraves, edges of mattresses and apply to outside of double-sided tape on legs of beds. Can also be put in castors under bed legs. Is used as an absorbent dust insecticide for the control of various stored product insect pests in farm-stored feed and seed grain, and grain for human consumption.
